All Asian cuisine under one roof
You don't have to go to separate restaurants for Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai and Japanese food. All are specialties of the Red Bowl Asian Bistro at Tega Cay. To add to the variety, there's a Sushi bar, a Stir-fry bar, a Steamer bar and a full service drink bar. A gluten-free menu is available for wheat-allergy sufferers, and for those who are sensitive to monosodium glutamate, all our food is MSG-free. Most sauces are prepared in-house and manager Joseph Yang said their original white mustard sauce and Yum Yum sauce has become so popular, they are now being offered separately for take-home purchase.
Owner David Zheng said his goal was to make good Asian cuisine available to everyone at reasonable prices, in an upscale but casual family atmosphere. Family specials include a 99-cent kids' menu on Monday and Saturday, all day.
Zheng and Yang work together as a team. Yang, the manager said he's the "People person" who enjoys mingling with customers. Zheng, though also a host, specializes in kitchen supervision and quality control.
Zheng was trained as a chef while in China. After coming to the States, he received more training at cooking schools in Chicago, New Orleans, San Francisco and Houston. He started managing as a teenager, on his own. His first... |
